A new Best Picture challenger has emerged

At the Toronto Film Festival, it was Spanish film La bola negra that won the People’s Choice Award. It was an upset victory that most predicted would be either I Play Rocky or The Debut.

But sharp punters and followers who follow us on X were tipped into the Best Picture new challenger several weeks ago, when La bola negra was generously mispriced by sportsbooks at 15-1 or +1400. The play remains key to success in entertainment awards betting: Before it is priced in, before the markets move, grabbing maximum expected value (EV).
